PAN MONO is also the more economical choice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen faster cutting is desired, particularly on \u003cstrong\u003elarger facets or harder materials\u003c\/strong\u003e, PAN PCD may be preferred. In our experience, PCD can prepolish and polish approximately three times faster than monocrystalline diamond of a comparable grit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhere the same grit is available in both products, \u003cstrong\u003ePAN MONO and PAN PCD can be used on the same diamond-charged lap\u003c\/strong\u003e. A charged lap may be used with MONO and then switched to PCD of the same grit, or vice versa.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePAN MONO can be used with either water-based or oil-based lubrication systems. For water-based use, we recommend \u003cstrong\u003eSnake Fluid™\u003c\/strong\u003e. When an oil-based extender is preferred, we recommend \u003cstrong\u003eSnake Oil™\u003c\/strong\u003e. The diamond type may be changed, but the charged lap should remain dedicated to that grit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eComposite polishing laps such as \u003cstrong\u003eDarkside™, MATRIX™, DIAMAX™, and Lightside™\u003c\/strong\u003e work differently. The diamond is used on the surface of the lap rather than permanently charging the lap.
