Its polycrystalline structure provides many cutting edges and greater effective cutting surface, making it particularly useful for \u003cstrong\u003elarger facets, harder materials, or whenever faster material removal is desired\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor \u003cstrong\u003esmaller facets, smaller stones, or situations where a more delicate and controlled cutting action is preferred\u003c\/strong\u003e, PAN MONO may be the better choice. PAN MONO is also the less expensive option.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhere the same grit is available in both products, \u003cstrong\u003ePAN PCD and PAN MONO can be used on the same diamond-charged lap\u003c\/strong\u003e. A charged lap may be used with PCD and then switched to MONO of the same grit, or vice versa.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePAN PCD can be used with either water-based or oil-based lubrication systems. For water-based use, we recommend \u003cstrong\u003eSnake Fluid™\u003c\/strong\u003e. When an oil-based extender is preferred, we recommend \u003cstrong\u003eSnake Oil™\u003c\/strong\u003e. The diamond type may be changed, but the charged lap should remain dedicated to that grit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eComposite polishing laps such as \u003cstrong\u003eDarkside™, MATRIX™, DIAMAX™, and Lightside™\u003c\/strong\u003e work differently. The diamond is used on the surface of the lap rather than permanently charging the lap.
