TIN PLUS™ Faceting Polish Lap

TIN PLUS™ is a tin-alloy laminated faceting lap for prepolishing and polishing with diamond. It provides the smooth, controlled polishing response associated with traditional tin laps in a precision-machined laminated format.

The TIN PLUS™ alloy falls between pure tin and BATT™ in hardness. Its fine-grained surface charges easily with diamond compound and provides a less aggressive polishing action than harder alloy laps.

TIN PLUS™ has long been favored by some sapphire faceters and by cutters who prefer the feel and response of a traditional tin polishing surface.

Recommended Use

TIN PLUS™ works well with Gearloose PANDIMONIUM® diamond compounds. Apply only a small amount of diamond when charging the lap.

Because the alloy is softer than BATT™, TIN PLUS™ may require somewhat more frequent charging. Many cutters prefer this softer surface for its traditional tin-lap feel and controlled polishing action.

Construction & Stability

TIN PLUS™ has a precision-machined aluminum master-lap base with a laminated tin-alloy working surface for flatness and stability.
